Calculation of the accelerating magnetic system for the adhezator of the heavy ion accelerator
Description
To determine the efficiency of the collective multicharged ion accelerator, a calculation of accelerating magnetic system for the adhezator of heavy ion (AHI) JINR accelerator has been made. The ion loading into the compressed ring has been carried out using impulse beam of neutral gas. The ring acceleration has been carried out in a regular decaying magnetic field. The output and acceleration system including the third adhesion stage and solenoid ensures electron ring compression from the radius of 9-11 cm down to the final one of 4-4.5 cm, the output of the ring charged with ions into the region of a linear decaying magnetic field and ion acceleration up to the energies of 1-5 MeV/n. The computer calculation results are given of the relative gradient distributions accompaning the electron beam as well as the change in the mean radius and axial ring velocity at the 2.2 MeV and 3 MeV injection energy
