Single-fraction prostate stereotactic body radiotherapy: Dose reconstruction with electromagnetic intrafraction motion tracking

Highlights: • 15 prostate cancer patients were treated with a single SBRT fraction of 19 Gy. • Intrafraction motion was tracked with intraprostatic electromagnetic transponders. • Intrafraction target motion was simulated in the original treatment plans. • Intrafraction motion did not impair target coverage or treatment safety. • Protocol violations were minimal despite prostate motion. To reconstruct the dose delivered during single-fraction urethra-sparing prostate stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) accounting for intrafraction motion monitored by intraprostatic electromagnetic transponders (EMT).
