Study and characterization of laser induced plasma for some rare earth elements

Description
Spatial and temporal behavior and propagation of Nd-YAG laser induced plasma plume are studied at different Argon background pressures (1, 10, 102, 103, 104 and 105 Pa) for Yb elements as well as Al-2O-3-TiC compound using an optical emission spectroscopy technique between 450-850 nm. Excitation, ionic temperatures and electron density are deduced from spectral data analysis. Temporal evolution of the plasma plume is probed via Optical Time Of Flight (O-TOF) technique. The spatial behavior of the excitation and ionic temperaturescoupled with O-TOF profiles of different Ti I lines are investigated (author).
