On obtaining of cadmium and tellurium of high degree purification

Some features characteristic of cadmium and tellurium purification at the stage of rectification are discussed. Such a process being carried out in vacuo makes it possible to considerably reduce the content of gas impurities in the end product. The rectification diagram has been somewhat modified and enlarged. First, all-welded rectification equipment has been the only type used for purification. Second, prior to operation, the equipment has been subjected to a prolonged vacum heat treatment. The results of chemicospectral and radioactivation analyses and also the measurement results of the physical characteristics show a high purity of cadmium and tellurium upon rectification
