Simplified means of measuring radon progeny in the air

Description
Using a charged balloon and a Geiger counter, the daughter products in the decay series of Rn-220 and Rn-222 can be detected and their activity measured. Additionally, with more advanced detection equipment the specific energies of the photons released as a result of a series of decays can be determined, and spectra matched to specific isotopic decays.
