Description
Using irradiation method and cross-linking agent N, N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide, the cationic starch hydrogel was synthesized by the graft copolymerization of starch with dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (DMDAAC) and acrylamide (AM). The product was analyzed by FTIR. The relationships between the swelling ratio and the amount of N, N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide were studied. The results show that the swelling ratio of cationic starch hydrogel has decreased. As the amount of cross-linking agent increased. (authors)
