Cross section measurements of J/Ψ and Ψ' production in bar pp collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV
Creators
Description
Measurements of the production cross section for inclusive J/Ψ and Ψ' mesons in bar pp collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV will be presented. Collisions with dimuon candidates recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) show clear evidence for production of mesons containing bottom and charm quarks that decay into J/Ψ and Ψ' final states. A measure of the cross section for prompt J/Ψ production is used to infer the production rate for B mesons that subsequently decay into inclusive charmonium final states. The differential cross sections for these processes will be examined. The data come from the 1992-93 Fermilab Collider run that is currently underway
