Description
The amplitude for p + 4He elastic scattering is written as the sum of an optical potential amplitude plus a heavy particle stripping amplitude. The latter is calculated using a DWBA approach. Finite range effects are taken into account through the use of a spherical delta-shell approximation. The calculated large angle cross sections and polarizations for proton energies near 150 MeV are in good agreement with experiment. (orig.)
