Description

This report first proposes a synthetic presentation of results of this study through presentations of stakes on the short term (to respond to competitiveness stakes), on the medium term (to switch to an energetic model based on demand management and modulation) and on the long term (to finance large scale storages and grids), and also definitions of several associated actions. Before reaching these identifications of stakes and actions, the authors identify three trends to be taken into account: effects of shale gas revolution in the USA, a rather steady electric power consumption in France but still sensitive to temperature, and a risk of degradation of power quality in relationship with the development of decentralised and intermittent production by renewable energies. Then, the authors draw lessons from energy transition in neighbouring countries and at the European level. In this context, they try to see how this ambitious bet of energy transition can be gained through principles of competitiveness, of agility, of legibility, and of a Europe of energy. Then, the above mentioned stakes on the short, medium and long terms are analysed and discussed (this discussion is illustrated and based on many graphs and tables of data related to energy prices, production, consumption, and so on), and the associated actions are defined
