Testing the muon number conservation law in anti nu/sub μ/ + e-. Technical report No. 76-117
Description
The validity of the multiplicative muon number conservation law is tested by comparing the quasi-elastic reactions anti ν/sub μ/ + e- → μ- + anti ν/sub e/ and ν/sub μ/ + e- → μ- + ν/sub e/ at Fermi-Lab energies. It is noted that the measured electron spectrum in muon decay places strong constraints on the effective Lagrangian for the anti ν/sub μ/-inducted process
