Annual report 1974
Description
The Hahn-Meitner-Institut fuer Kernforschung Berlin G.m.b.H. (HMI) gives a report on its activity during the year 1974. The 'annual report 1974' is a part of the report and information system of the HMI. With this report, the society aims, for one, to inform the general public outside the circle of specialist colleagues about its targets and results in order to strengthen the interest in the furthering of the work, and lastly but not least, to justify itself to the public. The report is thus part of the public relations work of the HMI. At the same time, the annual report is also a component in controlling the success. It thus has a double task. This is particularly illustrated by the comparatively detailed presentation of the results of the infrastructural facilities which are not yet to be found elsewhere, whereas the results of the scientific section have already been published in the 'Wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisbericht 1 - 4, 1974' (HMI Nr. 163 to 166). Die Hahn-Meitner-Institut fuer Kernforschung Berlin G.m.b.H. (HMI) legt den Bericht ueber ihre Taetigkeit im Jahr 1974 vor. Der 'Jahresbericht 1974' ist ein Teil des Berichts- und Informationssystems des HMI. Mit diesem Bericht will die Gesellschaft zum einen die Allgemeinheit ausserhalb des Kreises der Fachkollegen ueber ihre Ziele und Ergebnisse informieren, um das Interesse am Fortgang der Arbeiten zu staerken und nicht zuletzt um Rechenschaft vor der Oeffentlichkeit abzulegen. Insofern ist der Bericht Teil der Oeffentlichkeitsarbeit des HMI. Zugleich ist der Jahresbericht auch ein Baustein beim Verfahren der Erfolgskontrolle. Er hat somit eine doppelte Aufgabe. Insbesondere zeigt sich dies an der vergleichsweise ausfuehrlichen Darstellung der Ergebnisse der Infrastruktureinrichtungen, die noch nicht an anderer Stelle vorliegen, waehrend die Ergebnisse des wissenschaftlichen Bereichs bereits im 'Wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisbericht 1 - 4, 1974' (HMI-Berichte Nr. 163 bis 166) veroeffentlicht wurden.
