Description
The twistor methods of Penrose and MacCallum are extended to describe the kinematics of a massive spinning particle. These twistor equations are applied to describe the scattering of massive spinning particles on electromagnetic and gravitational plane impulsive waves. Assuming that the constituent twistors of the particle scatter independently, the Lorentz force for a Dirac particle and the Papapetrou spin force are obtained. The twistor equations of scattering exhibit a canonical structure throughout. (Sz.N.Z.)
