Investigation of the modulated magnetic phase of superconducting HoMo6S8
- 1. Department of Physics and Institute for Physical Science and Technology, University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland 20742
Description
Small-angle neutron scattering has been used to study the temperature and magnetic field dependence of the magnetic scattering in the superconducting phase of HoMo6S8. Just above the transition T/sub m/ = 0.732 K to the modulated phase, precursor scattering which peaks at Q0(0.030 A-1) has been observed. This peak is suppressed by modest (approx.20-Oe) fields, whereas below T/sub m/ the intensity of the Bragg peak at Q0 is initially enhanced, achieving a maximum at Happrox.200 Oe
