Description

The necessity of incorporation monitoring in nuclear medicine is dependent of the incorporation factor. For important applications, such as Tc-99m diagnostics and the radioiodine therapy specific measuring programs allow the determination of the incorporation factor. These factors are usually marginal so that a periodic monitoring is either not necessary or replaced by simple threshold measurements. Experiences of incorporation measuring stations show that incorporation might occur but does not induce significant doses.
