γ-Scanning as a new method for controlling the quality of borosilicate glass blocks from the solidification of high active waste
Description
The homogeneity of the fission product concentration within the glass-matrix is the essential factor determining the rate of activity being librated from the glass blocks in case of contact with water. γ-Scanning is proposed as a new method for the determination of the distribution of radioactivity within the cylindrical glass blocks. The detection limits of the method for conglomerate structures of radioactivity are estimated by a model calculation. (orig.)

(orig.)
