Highly-excited atom in a high-frequency field of a linearly-polarized electromagnetic radiation

Description

The linearly-polarized field effect on highly-excited atoms (HEA) in high-frequency case has been analyzed. The problem possesses a series of peculiarities. Thus the method of introduction of Ueff effective potential in a quickly-variable fiel (Kapitsa method) turns to be insufficient thus Ueff should be completed by a new term. The problem on the atomic electron motion is reduced to the wellknown problem of celestial mechanics on satellite motion in the gravitational field of the flattened Earth. The effective hamiltonian is characterized by higher symmetry than the axial one: as additional conserved value turns out the momentum moment square which is far from being trivial
