Assay of androgen receptors in human prostate tissue
Description
The result of radioligand binding assay study demonstrated that in the prostate both cytoplasmic and nuclear AR can be saturated by 5 nmol/1 dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The values of Bmax and KD are 129.4 fmol/mg protein and 0.88 nmol/1 in cytoplasm; 176.2 fmol/mg protein and 3.2 nmol/1 in nucleus. Both the cytoplasmic and nuclear AR content in prostatic hypertrophy (P < 0.05). It is useful in selecting suitable therapy for PC patients. Thaw-mount autoradiography demonstrated that AR are mainly located in the epithelial cells of the glandular tissue of prostate
