Description

By the methods of physicochemical analysis preparation conditions of Hg1-xCdxCr2Se4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) solid solutions are studied. Using the methods of thermogravimetry and tensimetry thermal stability of polycrystal solid solutions in the air and in vacuum is investigated. It is shown that in the air depending on the composition up to 680-790 K splitting-off of selenium with the formation of spinel deficient in selenium takes place, and above the temperatures oxidation with the formation of solid oxides occurs. Thermal decomposition of solid solution of the composition Hg0.5Cd0.5Cr2Se4 in vacuum proceeds in two stages. Temperature dependences of saturated vapour pressure over Hg0.5Cd0.5Cr2Se4 are found. Growing conditions of Hg1-xCdxCr2Se4 solid solution monocrystals are determined in a wide range of x values by the method of chemical transport reactions. Method of atomic-absorption analysis of solid solution monocrystals is developed
