Dose distribution mapping in intense γ-ray fields using dye film dosimetry

Description
The results are reported of measurements of absorbed dose and dose distributions made in a typical irradiation product box in a sterilization process using radiochromic film dosimetry. The results are fairly reproducible and are consistent with nominal values. The maximum standard deviation of the experimental results was found to be 2.5%. This result establishes the system as a useful routine dosimetry technique for irradiation plants. Experiments performed using an aluminium box of 1.5mm wall thickness as a product container showed several advantages. (U.K.)
