X-ray radiometric method application in prospecting and evaluation of tungsten ores

  • 1. Severo-Vostochnoe Territorial'noe Geologicheskoe Upravlenie (USSR)

Description

In the Bokhapchinsk tungsten deposit roentgenoradiometric testing of quarries was carried out to estimate the content of WO3 in the ores and enclosing rocks under natural conditions. Roentgenoradiometric analysis of powder samples was made. Roentgenoradiometric testing was conducted with the use of equipment based on the MAK-1 device and gamma radiation sources ''Cobalt-57''. The sensitivity threshold was 0.1% WO3. The roentgenoradiometric analysis of powder samples was carried out directly in a field group with the use of batch-prodUced equipment. The sensitivity threshold was 0.04-0.05% WO3, the analysis accuracy corresponding to the third category. The results of the roentgenoradiometric investigations may be used for fast planning of geological prospecting, rejection of oreless intervals, and preliminary evaluation of deposits. Integrated evaluation of tungsten deposits makes it possible to carry out roentgenogradiometric analysis of samples for Sn, Mo and Ta
