Circular polarization observations of HZ Herculis
- 1. Battelle Observatory, Pacific Northwest Laboratories, Richland, Washington
Description
A search for broad-band optical circular polarization in the light from the X-ray binary HZ Her/Her X-1 was carried out during the period 1973 April 5 to 1973 June 3. Observations were spaced in an attempt to check for correlations with the 1.7-day binary eclipse period and the 35-day X-ray on-off cycle. No statistically significant signal was observed at the 0.1 percent level. Subject headings:polarization - X-ray sources
