Note on MCDF correlation calculations for high-Z ions

Description
The ground-state energies of helium-like uranium, helium-like holmium and neutral helium have been calculated within the multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock model. The convergence problem of the MCDF method for two-electron heavy ions is studied. The results are compared with values obtained by others using projection operators for the negative energy continuum. A small but significant discrepancy in calculated energies is found. (author)
