Symmetrical elimination of the centre-of-mass motion in the non-relativistic three-body problem

  • 1. Slovenska Akademia Vied, Bratislava (Czechoslovakia). Fyzikalny Ustav

Description

The generalized Jacobi coordinates for the non-relativistic three-body system with different masses are introduced. These coordinates make it possible to eliminate the centre of mass motion of the system in such a way that the remaining part of the hamiltonian (in the classical as well as quantum-mechanical case) is symmetric with respect to permutations of all three particles
