Biomass Regional Plan for Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Biomass Regional Plan, co-piloted by the Government and the Region, aims to provide an overview of agricultural and forestry resources, as well as resources resulting from the transformation of biomass by various activities (craft, industrial...), that could be used for energy purposes by 2030 and 2050. The plan is divided into two main parts: 1 - The report takes stock of the volumes of biomass that are currently unused whether this biomass comes from an organic resource or a woody resource. The work presented in this plan, concerning wood resources, is based on the Regional Forestry and Wood Program and, in particular, on the by-products of wood processing. It also presents an analysis of public policies that have an impact on this resource and the challenges of mobilizing and adding value to this resource. 2 - The guidance document presents the resources available for energy purposes by 2030 and 2050 for the organic resources, and by 2027 for wood resources. To achieve these objectives, the local players who contributed to the development of this plan, have defined four main guidelines: observing and sharing the knowledge that is essential for monitoring the resource, sustainable mobilization of organic resources, recycling of green waste, and structuring the recycling of wood resources. Eleven concrete actions have resulted, divided into four typologies: actions arising from observation and monitoring of the resource, actions to disseminate knowledge, awareness-raising initiatives, and actions designed to put professionals in touch with each other
