Phase separation effect of orifices in two-phase flow and measurement of two-phase flow humidity
- 1. Qinghua Univ., Beijing, BJ (China). Inst. of Nuclear Energy Technology
Description
Phase separation takes place when a two-phase flow passes through an orifice. It is demonstrated that the phase separation effect of orifice leads to the differential pressure signal noises, and the amplitude of the noise root is directly proportional to the liquid phase mass flow. A theoretical equation for measuring two-phase flow humidity is derived. On the other hand, as phase ratio is known, application of orifices in the measurement of two-phase mass flow is a well-known technology. It is possible to measure both of phase ratio and mass flow by combining the two measuring methods mentioned above
