Results of the slash geochemical method application for radionuclide contamination mapping on the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site

Description
In the paper the first results obtained during studies on the topic 'Geo-radio-ecological mapping of the former nuclear sites by the express methodic base development' are given. Key tasks which have been solved during the first stage of works are as follows: - determination of principal possibility the local technogenous radionuclides anomalies identification by the way of the slash geochemical search conducting by scattered flows; - Clarification of enrichment level by radionuclides with a different granulometric and elemental fractions in the collected samples. In the results of analytical works it was established, that: a specific activity of 134Cs, 60Co and (152-154)Eu in the assays are on the trace level; natural radionuclides content does not exceeds the quark one; a specific activity of technogenous radionuclides makes up (Bq/kg): for Pu - 1-99, Sr - 5--113, Cs - 14-155. It is concluded, that principally the clay fractions is enriched by radionuclides (grain size <0.1 mm); radionuclides, plutonium and strontium including, are transferring by scattering flows with clay fraction; a principal possibility of local anomalies determination by the way of slash geochemical survey by the scattering flows us established
