The assessment of Impurity and Water Treatment of Bandung TRIGA 2000 reactor

Description
Water of tank of Bandung TRIGA 2000 reactor is an important part of a reactor system, because of its function as cooler, moderator and as radiation shielding. Because of these functions, the tank water has to fulfill all requirements as written in the reactor Sar (Safety analysis report). During the reactor operation this water is exposed by many incidents. In the reactor core the water contact with fuel elements to transport the heat from them. In the heat exchanger system the water releases the heat from reactor system to the surrounding and in the reactor tank the water shields a radiation and protect a part of radioactive release to surrounding. Because of these processes, after the reactor operation the quality of the reactor tank water can be changed from the initial condition and hence was not fit anymore with the Sar, so that the water must be treated. The impurities related with Sar were identified. From the data of the most probable impurities, corrosion and ions release were chosen as the discussion objects
