Fast Neutron Inelastic Scattering Cross Section Measurements for Five Levels in 232Th
Description
The in elastic scattering cross section for five low lying states in 232Th isotope were measured form (n, n δ) reaction using time-of-flight technique and by applying a suitable pulse-shape discrimination method. The fast neutrons beam was provided from a research reactor in the energy range 0.4-3.5 MeV. The integral cross section values were deduced for the 714.3(1-),774(3-), 785.2(2+)829.6(3+),883.3(5-) keV state relative to the standard cross data of 847(2+) first excited state of 56Fe. Cross section values were compared to the published results and with model calculation based on the compound - nucleus statistical model implemented in the CINDY programme. (author)
