Radioiodinated presynaptic markers for GABA and dopaminergic neurons

Description

The dopaminergic and GABA neuronal systems play a prominent role in the etiology of certain psychiatric and neurological diseases. Successful PET studies of these systems with [F-18]GBR 13119, a presynaptic dopamine uptake inhibitor, have led us to develop iodine-125 iodinated presynaptic markers for dopaminergic and GABA neurons for possible SPECT application. The chemistry, radiochemistry, and preliminary bioevaluation of these radioligands will be discussed
