Determination of x-, and gamma-ray emission probabilities in the decay of Np-239
- 1. Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology (NINT), Beijing (China)
Description
The x-, and gamma-ray emission probabilities per decay of Np-239 are determined directly from the ratio of the emission rates and the activity. The emission rates are measured with calibrated Ge(Li) spectrometer and activity with 4πβ - r coincidence counting device. The 277.6 keV r-ray emission probability is determined as 0.1421+-0.0013. The errors of the measured results are discussed and compared with published data. (author)
