Improving plant safety and reliability through predictive maintenance of motor operated valves using the Valve Operation Test and Evaluation System (VOTES reg-sign)

Creators

  • 1. Liberty Technologies, Conshohocken, PA (United States)

Description

Motor operated valves (MOVs) are an integral part of any plant's process and safety systems. Until recently, the technology to non-intrusively test and verify operability of critical plant valves under static or differential pressure conditions did not exist. Liberty Technologies' VOTES, the Valve Operation Test and Evaluation System, provides this capability. Since its introduction in 1988, the patented VOTES concept has been used extensively in nuclear plants to effectively and economically test and evaluate safety related MOVs. Liberty Technologies and Limitorque Corporation have joined together to introduce VOTES to the petrochemical industry for valve testing, diagnostics and predictive maintenance
