Comment on: Electromagnetic excitation of the nucleon resonances

Description

The most precise information on the structure of nuclei comes from electron scattering data. The same method can be applied to study the quark wave function of excited nucleons. However, due to the large width of the nucleon resonances a simple excitation energy spectrum is no longer sufficient. To isolate the contribution of a single resonance the use of polarized particles and the measurement of the angular distribution of the hadronic decay products of the resonance are required.
