Conversion of the VEPP-2 electron-positron colliding beam storage ring

Description

The storage ring conversion has been carried out to increase the VEPP-2 luminosity. To increase the space angle of detected events, the connection of coils, generating a magnetic field, has been remade in a colliding gap, and to compensate for the first hamonics - in the opposite gap, where the accelerating system is located. This permitted to place spark chambers closer to the interaction region. As a result the space angle of detection increased from 2x0.6 to 2x1.1 sr. A considerable work has been done to increase the B-3M injector-synchrotron intensity. The vacuum system has been reconstructed. A feedback system has been introduced to suppress instabilities in the high-frequency system operation. Specifications of the VEPP-2 after reconstruction are given
