Description

The dynamic deformation model (DDM) has been used to calculate the potential energy surfaces V(p,y).The contour plot of the potential energy surfaces shows that 224Ra is a deformed nucleus and has rotational characters. 224Ra has investigated also within the interacting boson approximation model (IBA-2). The model shows a great success in the past three decades in describing the low -lying collective states in medium and heavy nuclei. The energy of sixteen levels, ten of them are new and calculated for the first time, belonging to the ground state (g.s), beta (P) and gamma (y) bands are successfully reproduced. The transition probability of fifty-seven gamma transitions are calculated. The strength of six electric monopole, (EO), transitions are calculated for the first time also. The results of these calculations are compared with the available previous experimental and theoretical data. A good agreement has obtained between both
