Elastic-plastic fracture toughness Jsub(c) at plane stress state
Description
Constancy of elastic-plastic fracture toughness value (Jsub(c)) within the limits of the studied specimen sizes is shown. Distribution of experimentally determined on Kh18N9T steel specimens equivalent strains and stresses on the line of the crack extension in the moment of its start is compared with HRR-singularity under conditions of the plane stressed state with developed plastic flow near the crack tip. It is established that J-integral value controls fracture process at plane stressed state and may serve as a one-parameter criterion for elastic-plastic fracture
