Manipulation of cold atoms in Hollow Laser beam
Description
A hollow optical fiber has many interesting applications in atom optics experiments such as atom guiding and the generation of hollow laser beam (HLB). In this paper we present quantitative experimental and theoretical studies associated with optical manipulation of trapped cold atoms by hollow laser beams produced from a hollow optical fiber. Firstly, the generation of HLBs and the guiding of cold rubidium atoms in HLB will be discussed. Then the experiment on atomic fountain and the optical dipole trap with HLB will be presented.
