Investigation of the recoil nucleus pulse distribution in the 4He(e, e'p)3H reaction

Description

The angular dependence of the 4He (e, e'p)3H reaction cross section has been measured in an electron linear accelerator with the initial energy of electrons 1186 MeV and with detecting (e, e'p) coincidences. For the 221 MeV protons escaping a nucleus a momentum distribution for recoil nuclei is obtained for the range of 0-300 MeV/c. A comparison is made with the results of investigating the (p, 2p) reaction and with the calculation performed in the Born approximation with distorted waves. The comparison of the experimental data obtained with the calculation makes it possible to conclude that: 1) in the measured range of the recoil-nucleus momentum gsub(R) the shape of the experimental momentum distribution has turned out to be practically the same (within experimental errors) for both (p, 2p) and (e, e'p) processes; 2) the results of the DWBA calculation in absolute values and in shape are in a good agreement with the experimental points obtained in studying the 4He (e, e'p)3H reactions. The calculation carried out with taking account of correlations is in a worse agreement with the experimental results in the range of gsub(R) > 150 MeV/c than the DWBA calculation
