Description
The characteristics of current available radiopharmaceuticals for inflammation imaging, including 67Ga-citrate, 18F-FDG, radiolabeled nonspecific human immunoglobulin, leukocytes, antigranulocyte monoclonal antibodies, and ciprofloxacin, were introduced briefly. The inflammation-/infection-specific tracers which were in the process of researching, i.e., radiolabeled cytokines and their antagonists for inflammation-specific imaging, and the tracers targeting micro-organisms for infection-specific imaging, such as radiolabeled antibiotics, bacteriophages, chitinase and chitin-binding proteins, antimicrobial peptides, and nucleosides and their derivates, are addressed in detail.
