This Final Environmental Impact Statement was prepared as a cooperative effort by the U.S. Forest Service, the State of Colorado, and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in response to an application by the Homestake Mining Company for authorization to mine and mill uranium ore at their Pitch Project location in Saguache County, Gunnison National Forest, Colorado. The Statement describes numerous alternatives affecting mining and milling operations. The Statement discusses the estimated effects of implementing each of the alternatives. The preferred actions are identified
