X-ray diagnosis in malignant lymphomas

In all groups of malignant lymphomas, accurate staging before onset of therapy and follow-up controls during and after therapy are mandatory. Non-invasive examination methods for assessing the abdominal and thoracal lymph node sites are: conventional X-ray films of the thorax in two planes with fluoroscopy, tomography and oesophagography, as well as computed tomography and sonography, Lymphography is an invasive method of X-ray diagnostics which should be used primarily if the histology is unknown, since this method permits not only to assess the lymph node size, but also the thesaurocyte structure.
