Integrated parameters of open clusters
- 1. Uttar Pradesh State Observatory, Naini Tal (India)

Description
Integrated magnitudes and colours of population I synthetic clusters have been derived using the theoretical evolutionary tracks and an age-dependent initial mass function (IMF) obtained by previous authors. A comparison of the theoretically obtained integrated parameters with the observational data of open clusters in the Milky Way and clusters in the LMC has also been made. It is found that the observed dependences show a better agreement with the theoretical dependences obtained in the present work than the theoretical dependences obtained by earlier authors. It is also concluded that the clusters in the LMC in general show a mean reddening of E(B-V) ≅ 0.12 mag. (author)
