Quantum dissipation on a disordered lattice: A simple tight-binding approach

Description

We investigate by a generalized Born approximation the quantum dynamics of a dissipative particle on a tight-binding disordered one-dimensional lattice. When the friction is ohmic, the particle evolution is shown to be governed by a retarded master equation for the site-diagonal elements of the density matrix. The model allows for a discussion of the interplay of the effects of quantum noise and of disorder. (author). 24 refs, 1 fig
