Application of time-dependent reliability analysis code ''MARKOV'' to the nuclear power plants

  • 1. Nippon Atomic Industry Group Co., Ltd., Kawasaki, Japan

Description

This paper provides the calculational model and applications of ''MARKOV'' code. Computer code ''MARKOV'' was developed to estimate the time-dependent reliability/availablity of redundant repairable systems based on a Markov model. The methods of handling transient behaviors due to demand failures and the effect of allowable outage time (AOT) were developed and built in this code, so that more realistic evaluation of the effects such as human errors and long term phased mission probability would be possible compared with the other conventional Markovian approach
