'Accord 12' multichannel analyzer for simultaneous recording deuterium and hydrogen atom energy spectra

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad (Russian Federation). Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

A twelve-channel analyzer allowing one to simultaneously record the energy distribution and absolute fluxes of hydrogen and deuterium atoms emitted by high-temperature plasma is described. The analyser dynamic range i.e. the ratio of energies measured simultaneously by the edge device channels makes up ∼ 7. The minimum energy of the particles recorded is 200 eV the maximum is 70 keV. The energy channel width is 9-30%. Channel electron multipliers VEM-6 are used as detectors. The analyzer is calibrated on hydrogen and deuterium beams. Calibration is conducted under single atom collisions with nitrogen molecules under stationary admission to a stripping chamber. Atom recording efficiency falls within 10-5 (deuterium at 200 eV) - 2x10-1 (hydrogen at 70 keV) limits
