Calibration of a whole body counting system with a new type of anthropomorphic phantom

  • 1. Institut de Radioprotection et de Surete Nucleaire, IRSN, Dept. de Protection de la Sante de l'Homme et de Dosimetrie, 92 - Fontenay aux Roses (France)

Description

This paper presents the results of the calibration of our whole body counting system dedicated to high energy emitter measurements. These calibrations, carried out with a new type of anthropomorphic phantom called IGOR are compared with the SCHMIER phantom (bottle phantom) generally used in all French in vivo monitoring laboratories. This physical and spectrometric comparison show clearly the advantage of this new phantom IGOR especially in the field of radiation protection. (authors)
