Time to concentrate on licensing and public acceptability

From consideration of a number of factors emerging from the Saltzburg Conference it is suggested that it is now the time to fully demonstrate the technology for waste management and disposal, and to establish the necessary protocols, agreements, and standards to provide control on an international basis. The quantities of waste which will be produced world-wide are estimated and methods of treatment and disposal are summarised. The probable developments in the US programme on waste management and disposal are tentatively stated. (U.K.)
