Description
The paper consist of the second part of the lecture delivered by the Author for medical technicians during 6th Scientific Meeting of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine (Lodz, September 23-25, 1998). The first part, dedicated to the very basis of radioactivity, was published in the same journal, vol. 12 (1998) pp. 215-229. The attention is paid to basic interactions of ionizing radiation with matter, their role in nuclear medicine, as well as the consequences of X- and γ-ray interactions with matter. (author)
