Envxromental radioactivjty at Chernobylsk NPP during first period of jts operation
Description
The environmental radioactivity at a NPP with RBMK-1000 reactor during initial period of its operation is considered on the example of the Leningrad- and Chernobylks NPPs. γ radiation dose rate and spatial dose distribution have been studied in 27 premises with various equipment of cooling system and condensate-supply tract (CST). It is shown that CST equipment dose rate constitutes hundredths and tenths of μrem/s. In different premises of cooling system the dose rate varies within a wide range, the dose rate increasing with the operation time. The given data on variation of the environmental radioactivity with the operation time fits for forecasting the environmental radioactivity at a NPP with RBMK-1000 and forecasting personnel dose commitments
