Invariances in elementary particle physics

Creators

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay, 91 - Gif-sur-Yvette (France). Direction des Sciences de la Matiere

Description

The framework of the elementary particle physics is presently defined by the standard model; the various stages of its development were almost exclusively based on the symmetry and invariance concept: gauge transformations; space and time symmetries; charge conservation, and invariances associated to other degrees of freedom that are internal to particles (isotopic spin, baryonic, leptonic number or strangeness). P and CP symmetries violation and CPT invariance are discussed
