Efficient generation of x-ray radiation in laser-produced plasmas
Creators

Description
Continuum and line x-ray radiations are efficiently generated in high density plasmas produced by focusing high intensity laser radiation on solid targets. The authors obtain short pulse x-rays from the laser-produced plasmas that are not only in useful ICF research but also in practical applications such as x-ray lithography and x-ray microscopy. The authors discuss the generation mechanism of x-ray emission in laser-produced plasmas. Experimental results concerning the x-ray conversion efficiency at various experimental conditions are presented
